Volunteering is one of my favorite things. A few years ago I met Sharon Richardson and Julie Gindy at a community event that I volunteered at. During our conversation I mentioned to them that I was thinking of volunteering for Acting Out. A few weeks later Sharon emailed me and asked if I might be interested in being a guide at A Night in Sleepy Hollow. I thought what? Me a guide? I don’t know…
Well, I decided to jump out of my box. And said Yes! It was great fun, and I was so happy I had jumped. Then the next Spring I met Jan Glazar at a Chamber event, and offered to help with makeup at Les Mes, another huge jump!
Again, it was great fun, and it reminded me how much I enjoy live theater. I have been out of my box and working with Acting Out ever since. To me, there is nothing like the magical world of theater, and it has become one of my favorite things.
I am looking forward to another opportunity to volunteer this summer on Fleet Street. I hope you will join Acting Out Theatre Co as they bring to life
